Weird start on OSX
Hi,
I have TS 1.20 installed on an iMac under OSX Lion (10.7.2). When I start TS it takes ages to get going and display anything. Sometimes I have to click the application several times and still wait. Anyone have any idea what I might have done wrong???
Thanks,
Jim

Re: Weird start on OSX
One thing I have seen really hang Opening time is if you are using or have assigned BT Virtual Comm Ports, but that usually is more on windows than on OS X.. OS X seems to work better with Bluetooth that Windows or Linux.
A TunerStudioAppDebug.txt would probably help see what activity it is hanging on.

Phil,
Apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I forgot to select "notify when a reply is posted' on my original post. Anyway, just now it took about 5 attempts to start TS. Here's the debug file;

Re: Weird start on OSX
In that log file it looks like any hanging that is happening, is happening before TS actually get started. In the log file from start to project open and ready to go is only taking about 5-6 seconds.
The project is set to COM5, so it must be a windows project. Once the app is up, does it seem to work fine?
How are you starting the app? The TunerStudio.sh script or just double clicking the jar file?
How does MegaLogViewer do?
How about the the TunerStudio 1.006 OS X installer?

Re: Weird start on OSX
Hi Phil,
Yes, it's a windows project off my Win laptop. After a drive I work on the project on the mac. I have been double-clicking the jar file. Where can I get the OSX installer??
Thanks for the reply. (It works fine once it starts and MLV starts pretty much ok.)

Re: Weird start on OSX
I have been having trouble shutting down TunerStudio in OSX using 1.14.1.
TS crashes each time I shutdown, using “File->Exit”. Using the Apple Window “TunerStudio MS -> Quit TunerStudio MS”, the application exits quickly.
After File->Exit, I watched the system monitor CPU load go up to 85% and memory usage near double before gave up and killed the task. I tried to reload the software but the results are the same.
I loaded Beta 1.21, it opened fine and shut down immediately using “File->Exit”. - Thank You!

Re: Weird start on OSX
There is a 1.006 installer for OS X at the both download sites:Where can I get the OSX installer??
http://tunerstudio.com/index.php/downloads
and
https://www.efianalytics.com/TunerStudio/download/
I haven't put together a beta installer since the 1.14.1 one... It is about due. It's just that I haven't put together any automated script for the OS X installers, it is a manual effort.
