VEAL and Restore stopped working

I have been happily using 1.004, but when I recently used Analyse Live it displays many cell changes, but when I Send and Burn, no changes are recorded in the Controller/TS/Save Tune. I have the Update flag set, etc. Using Compare shows no differences?
V1.0006 is the same. Also I noted that restore points have stopped being recorded back in October last year.
Any ideas what might have changed to stop VEAL working? I am on MS2Extra (V2.1.0p)

It sounds like data is not burning?
Are any changes being saved, even Manual ones?

There are no restore point in 1.004-1.006, restore points are only available in the beta.

Hi Phil.
Yes, manual changes are saved normally ((under Guage Cluster) - works quite OK with datalogging.

The restore points in the folder must have been when I loaded a beta version last Aug-Sept. I was having USB/Serial problems with Prolific and changed to FDDI and a BlueTooth.
I have no custom filters or anything. I simply switched over to AL because the engine seems to run smoother with AL on. Tried several runs, but non worked. (I am trying to resolve a long time "shunting" problem on light throttle between 1100 - 2000rpm.

All I can think is to check the TunerStudioLogFile.txt from the TunerStudioProjects folder and we can see if there are any exceptions that may be causing such a thing.

Hi Phil,
I have attached the Logfile (edited for the last couple of trips) and I cannot spot anything specific (but that does not mean too much, lots of info there.)

I noted that my Notebook has Com ports 1-9 all in use and so I will remove these and just try using 3 and 4 (Serial adaptor and Bluetooth).
Any other suggestion appreciated.

I don't see anything in there that appears related.

One odd error I saw is:

Has ms2GeneralPorts.ini been edited?

It might be worth trying the beta as the 1.004 code is getting quite old and fixes would no longer go into that anyway, but in this case I thing there is something specific to your install that is a problem.

Hi Phil,
I have cleared my Com ports and loaded V1.21 Beta. I see this version loads another ms2GeneralPorts.ini file. (The original ms2GeneralPorts.ini file was last changed Oct 2011.)
I did a run and normal datlogging works ok with 1.21, but the Analyse Live is still not writing any changes. It is very busy changing cells, but Send and Burn and then Save As have no effect?
Very strange. I have attached the new 1.21 debug log. It tries to use Com 3, but then settles on Com 4. I guess it must be something specific to my config that has changed?

There is still no comm debug info in that log,
but first... Let me get this straight.

You start VE Analyze and see it update the VE table on the VE Analyze tab.
If you open VE Table1 from the normal tuning menu, the table shows the original values.
Leave that table open and click send on the VE Analyze Tab, and the VE Analyze changes are not copied to VE Table 1? It still shows the original values?

My normal procedure is as follows:
Outward run - do normal datalogging while using the Guage Cluster screen. (Later, run MegalogViewer and analyse.)
Return run - switch screens to VEAL
Check that 'Update Controller' is Set.
Start 'Auto Tune'
Observe that changes are taking place in, Cell weightings, and Cell change displays. (I did not actually look specifically at changes taking place in the VE Table - small image on Notebook. I should probably emlarge and observe specific changes?)
At run end - 'Stop Auto Tune'
Click 'Burn'
Click 'Send'
From File menu "Save Tune as" - to a new .msq
Return to Guage Cluster screen.
Open 'Compare Tune' to open original .msq. Result = No differences.??

Hope that makes sense.

Please check the VE Table1 and see if you see that changing.

Phil,
when running V1.21 there are no changes being made to Table1. The Cell Weightings continuously display changes, but there are no changes being shown in Cell Change. The VE Table1 dotpoint continuously registers movement, but no cells change.
The tabular data at the bottom was showing 68 changes when I first noted it and when I had finished it read 130 changes (but nothing registered, I will take a screenshot next time.)

The MV data log I did on this tune (outward run) showed 42% cell changes and so there should have been many changes.?

I will unfortunately be unable to drive for the next 4-6 weeks and so cannot continue investigating the cause.
