MS3 w/ MS3X steps 27 and 28 . 6.0 LQ4 engine help

Post by phoenix27101 »

My engine: Stock 2003 6.0 Chevrolet LQ4, 60,000 miles, running all stock injectors, coils, plug connecters, et cetra.
Board: MS3 3.0 with MS3X
Mission: sequential fuel, timing, and spark

I have read through all of the manual and its associated pages. Up until now, all directions have been self-explanatory. However, I require help on steps 27 and 28, which involve the board setup for trigger and spark. What is the best way to discern which tach input I should go with? From the best I can understand, VR input is the correct choice, but I don't understand what pullup is, or if it is required for my application.

After that, I assume, I need to set for high output. I see the required steps for single high current, but should I go with multiple.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your help. I have looked over nearly everything, but there is a lot to take in. However, I am still unclear, do I want multiple high current outputs, or will the single be fine?

LSx coils don't need high current outputs.

I'm not trying be be slow here. I just really don't want to make a mistake. Just to clarify, because I don't need high output, I can essentially skip step 28. Is this correct? Again thanks.

Do keep asking questions - better safe than sorry.

Yes, you can safely skip step 28. You will be using the logic spark outputs on the MS3X connector.
Did you get step 27 done ok? The "VR" input mentions what is required for LS1.
