Searching Logs?

Post by robd »

I'm just wondering if it's possible to do a search on a log for how many times and at where in the log a particular cell was hit? Just thinking this would make it helpful trying to manually tune the VE table based on the logs so I can see how often and where I'm entering a certain part of my VE table. Then I could see if I am getting the same results each time on that area!

So maybe it could return search results that quoted the VE value and at what time's in the logs you hit these cells and maybe even a summary of some sorts.

Main reason for thinking this is I'm wondering if my ITB load switchpoints are maybe wrong so I could be tuning the same area of the VE in both MAP and Alpha-N areas and ending up with different AFR's! Not sure if this is possible at all!

Cheers
Rob :)

P.S. I can see you can do a search on say Load and other fields at the moment, but does that just take you to the first result? Also what would be great is if in the search results it showed you each time stamp, then maybe a button so you could jump to that area, but while retaining the search box, much like when the VE Analyse screen opens.

Edit: Just seen this topic. Could the above be added as a feature request if you think it's worthwhile and isn't already do-able?

Bump - would this be possible at all do you think or can it be done already?

That sounds like the scatter plot would cover that more or less. You may want a more course grouping perhaps?

It takes you to the next place in the log that the search criteria is true, Press F3 and it takes you to the next again.

A more vague x > y would be good. I would figure it would find where it was true, then on search again ignore data until it is not true, then stop at the next true record.

Thanks for the reply, the search in the newer release of TS is good now with the greater than and less than.

I tried looking at the scatter plots and they made no sense to me unfortunaltey, is there anywhere I can read up on using the scatter plots so I can make sense of them and on how to use them as they look like they'd be very helpful! :)
