How does this compare to the 2JZ VVTi that is available in the development beta code?

Don't worry about the output too much. Are the wheel patterns and phasing the same?

Worth trying that wheel mode in the latest beta code. (See the MS3 development forum.)

Glad I found this thread. Joe - are you in the states? I'm in NY and planning on doing a JZ series swap (possibly VVT-i) and it would be good to have a friend to bounce ideas off of. I don't want to hijack your thread but it seemed like a good place to put this info WRT megasquirt and VVT-i control.

Here is some info on VVT-i and standalone management systems, the first link has a lot of great info:
http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/sho ... ntrol-VVTI
http://www.mr2.com/forums/beams-owners- ... beams.html

Conclusion is that VVT-i can be controlled with a state switch (on/off) instead of continuously variable, however this is far inferior to continuous control, which the stock ECU offers and is based upon a function of many engine input variables and is not 100% intuitive as it serves to enhance torque and not high end power.

Is anybody currently CONTINUOUSLY controlling their VVT-i setups? If so, how did they arrive at their mapping strategies and hardware setup?
