MSQ for 1.8 - 2.0 Vauxhall/Opel Astra/Kadet

Post by nicktruman »

Hi there
I have been ring MS1 V3 on my jag V12 for some years, but now I have changed the injectors from the low impednace 450cc ones to Siemens vauxhall red top 250cc injectors.
So I am after an MSQ I can use to get the fuelling nearly right so I can at least getting it ticking over. At the moment it ticks over at 2000 rpm + and is running as rich as hell!
The engine has just been rebuilt, with bigger turbos, decomp plates custom plenums etc.. here is a video of its first run.
http://youtu.be/2146IkiHxUs

Please :)

Kind regards

Nick

Hi Nick, I do not see why you want a Vauxhall MSQ ???, if your previous MAP was fine all you need to do is redo your Req Fuel with latest Inj's info and retune, Regards DM

Thats the problem, I set the constants up with the 250cc inj info and that uis fine, but the fuel table is still way out. As the car is not road legal, I cant get it on the road to tune it (easily).
I just want to see where a 1.8 engine is so i can gauge where best to set my table. I lowered all the values yesterday by 10 and it ceratinly helped. Cheers Nick

Did you already try the "required fuel calculator" and "generate table" options in Megatune? Those worked out fairly well for me.

hi, Yes I have, thats fine, the issue is with the fuel VE table, its set up for 400cc injectors. It would be good to see a 1,8 astra/kadet file to see what is a good base onfig for the red top injectors. I dont think they have been used in a twin turbo V12 before!!

the last working MSQ is attached

The VE table shouldn't need changing (that's the whole point of it being a VE table.)

Just adjust the ReqFuel number and injector dead time.

OK Thanks, I never thought of that, I have tried to get it back to where it was but its still running a bit rough. Can you check the attached log please and give me your thoughts?

The turbos are not connected yet, its 5.3l V12 with twin V6 coil packs. The injectors are 250cc vauxhall red tops.

Are you using a TPS? There is something weird going on with TPS accel in your log.

Yes I am using the Jag's TPS sender, it reads backwards (inverted). But its always been like that.

Can you tell me how do I set up injector dead time and the correct PWM? I used a calculator and workied out the settings (see attached PDF) but can not see where or how to put these into megatune or tuner studio freebie :(

Yes you do. What's the problem?

Maybe it is that MS1 says "opening time" when it really means dead time ?
