edis trigger wheel

Post by subie4me »

I seem to recall a post about using a gm 700 r4 reverse clutch disk instead of the ford 36-1 wheel. Is any one actually using this. I'm concerned the thickness of this auto tranny disk. It is only around .060 thick. This would however be easy to fit in tight areas.

I, too, am curious if anybody has verified that this wheel will work. I know it's been discussed as a cheap potential trigger wheel for a long time, but I don't recall reading about anybody actually using it.

As long as you align the sensor properly to the wheel, it should work fine. I'm using a non-std sensor triggered by teeth cut in the outer rim of a pulley which is also much thinner than the stock wheel.

As an alternative, you could mount the sensor axially to read the side of the teeth as well.
