Well, apparently the HEI and DIS of GM uses the same code, so it should be able to operate both peices of hardware.
Now, this install would be on a turbocharged 1.9L Saturn I4 engine, OBD1.
Looking at the picture, I would think that the pick-up coil would be the crank sensor in my application, which has 2 wires, but unfortuantely, it doesn't say a positive or a negative in the picture.
Would I absolutely have to run the HEI modual to fire the coil packs? Since my application uses 2 coils, would I have to splice into the coils directly, or is there some way to use my original ignition modual to get the fire starting?
The way the crank sensor in a saturn works is there's a notch in the crank that triggers this magnetic sensor. Same idea as mounting a magnet and reciever on a crank pulley or flywheel.
Any suggestions on rigging this up for a GM DIS install, anybody?
Thanks!
Mike

Re: GM DIS install
If you look at the module in the pic you might note that one of the pickup terminals is marked "P" and the other is marked "N".jeep45238 wrote:Looking at the picture, I would think that the pick-up coil would be the crank sensor in my application, which has 2 wires, but unfortuantely, it doesn't say a positive or a negative in the picture.
Beyond that I have no idea.
