Source for Bosch 211 Igniter Connectors?
I have an Audi version of the Bosch 211 igniter. I'm looking for matching connectors/pigtails, and I'm having a hell of a time finding a source. One is a Bosch Jetronic 4-pin, the other is a Bosch Jetronic 5-pin.
Any ideas on where I can get these? New is preferred, as I don't really have time to be cruising junkyards looking for parts.
Thanks in advance.
Brendan

Re: Source for Bosch 211 Igniter Connectors?
AFAIK, they are called "Junior Timer" connectors, and they are characterised by their pin numbers... UK link here for picture reference

Thank you for that. I'd found the Tyco part numbers (I think anyways) but hadn't found anyone who would sell single connectors. And, having an extra 999 of each of these on hand wouldn't do me any good

Brendan,
Here are a few sources a little closer to where you are:
http://www.eagleday.com/ampconnectors.html
http://www.classicricambi.com/index.php ... th=143_135
http://www.mouser.com/ has a lot of stuff, search on "junior timer"
If you know the Amp/Tyco partnumber, http://www.onlinecomponents.com/ has a lot of stuff at good prices
If you need a crimp tool, this one: http://www.delcity.net/store/OEM-Ratche ... 44.a_1.t_1 is only $28, I have one and it's been pretty good.
A couple of links for general info:

One trick I found is to use connector housings (which can be expensive and hard to find) from the junkyard, with new boots (if necessary) and new terminals.
Can ya tell I've done this before?

I collect engine wiring harnesses for their connectors all the time. It really makes life easy but does require a handfull of depinning tools as well new pins and a good crimper.elaw wrote:Brendan,

Re: Source for Bosch 211 Igniter Connectors?
I just ordered the connectors for my 211 igniter from the following website: onlinecomponents.com
Here are the links to the product pages:
bosch/amp 5 pin female housing p/n 282193-1
http://www.onlinecomponents.com/te-conn ... p=10325334
bosch/amp 4 pin female housing p/n 282192-1
http://www.onlinecomponents.com/te-conn ... p=10325331
bosch/amp wire seal p/n 828904-1
http://www.onlinecomponents.com/te-conn ... p=10511971
bosch/amp contact for 20-17awg wire p/n 929940-1
http://www.onlinecomponents.com/te-conn ... p=10530786
bosch/amp contact for 15.5-13.5 awg wire p/n 929937-1
http://www.onlinecomponents.com/te-conn ... p=10530776
I really hope this helps someone in their search for the connector, I was about to spend $25 per connector but then found this site and spent about $8 per connector.

Re: Source for Bosch 211 Igniter Connectors?
I want to wire the quadspark module instead of the Bosch 211, does anyone know where to find MALE connectors, so I don't need to cut in the OEM harness?

Re: Source for Bosch 211 Igniter Connectors?
Perhaps a bit late for you, but standard .110" male spade terminals will fit the Bosch female terminals. For reference, the female spade connectors do not fit Bosch Junior Timer connectors without re-forming, which is not recommended. You can bridge the males together with silicone RTV and use a zip-tie to retain for a more secure 'connector'. Not pretty, but it got me through a pinch with some reliability. Otherwise you can zip-bundle the male wires very close, and run a zip-tie around the connector to retain temporarily. I would squeeze a good amount of silicone dielectric grease in the females for terminal weather protection even if temporary.
