Selecting Channels in Graphing and Logging (Ultra)

Selecting Channels in Graphing and Logging (Ultra)

Post by shainiac »

I just upgraded from the Ultra Beta to the paid version of 3.00 Ultra.
One feature that seemed to disappear is the channel selecting in Graphing and Logging. In the Beta, I had the option to change the displayed data channels with drop downs to the left of the log view, similar to MLV.
Now, there are no channel drop downs. I can only change the channels by selecting/deselecting them from the dashboard. And at that, I can’t figure out how to get a channel to display in pane #1, #2, ect. They always seem to just populate the first log pane.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Alex

Hmm, if you had the dropdowns in the beta, it was likely a missing properties file...

To target a specific graph or color, right click on the readout, then it will give a popup for graph and color.

Also, if you do want the normal dropdowns, you can get them back by editing the properties file in the TunerStudio install.

Find the file LogViewer.properties, open it in a text editor.

Find the line:

Code: Select all

fieldSelectionStyle=selectFromDash
Put a hash in front of it:

Code: Select all

#fieldSelectionStyle=selectFromDash
Save and start TS.. Now will have dropdowns.

Note: Windows will likely not let you edit it there, you may need to copy the file to somewhere like your desktop, edit it, the copy it back. It will prompt you for Admin rights to copy.
I would like to make that a user option from in the UI.

Thanks Phil,
I will try that tonight.
I dyno'd my car this past weekend and the graphing and logging tab in TS made tuning the car MUCH faster. Best feature in Ultra, in my opinion.
Thanks,
Alex

Nice, have a friend with the beta ultra that had this issue.

Glad to see there may be a fix for it.

That sounds like another vote for making it a user selected option...

If I remember right there was an issue with it auto hiding, that is what shelved it to get to release. I'm sure I can get that worked out now though.

This has been added as an option in the latest beta that is planned for promotion to stable this Friday.

Every time my tunerstudio updates, I have to edit the properties to get my field select back. I thought this was resolved?

You shouldn't edit the properties file, change the preference in the app.

It is selectable in the graphing by clicking the settings button (The one with the little cog icon).
Then turn on or off "Quick Trace Selection" to your liking.

Also, please state whether you are using a beta or stable, as not stated I must assume you are on the stable? 3.0.28
