Ford Cam Sensor Terminals

Post by Rick Finsta »

I'm going to be running a Ford cam synchronizer with the VR sensor and two-pin connector. I can't for the life of me figure out what series terminals cam with the pigtail I've got.

Any ideas?

Here's a link to the connector type:

That's a Furakawa RFW-series connector. Corsa Technic has them here, as well as spare terminals.

Much obliged! I tried a Ford and Chrysler dealership and it seems as though they don't do anything except swap entire harness sections these days... actually I think it's been like that for awhile now.

Corsa Technic turns out is local - I had them next day. They weren't exactly correct as this housing doesn't use the little blades but a few seconds on the grinder and they fit perfectly. I'm going to be running VR sensors for the front and rear wheel speeds as well so I'll make good use of these things. The Ford sensors are really quite inexpensive and are very robust.

How very odd - that sure LOOKS like an RFW in the link you put up ... Oh, well - you're all set; glad you got it so fast!

I'm guessing the connector is a Chicom ripoff! The OEM Ford unit I've got absolutely has the grooves for those tabs, and this one looks like they were there, but when you try to insert the terminals it's like they don't go all the way through or something. I test fit one of the terminals in the actual Ford connector housing and it fit perfectly. Thanks again for the pointer!

I'm not sure I know of a dealership that does anything except replace entire subharnesses these days.
