MS expansion card

Post by Rooster210 »

I have the MS3 3.0 with the MSX card in it. My Idle valve is a ford 2 wire PWM type. Using the PWM wire from the main card the valve actually vibrates from whatever its trying to do. I did the mod on the main board for PWM Idle valves, but am I actually supposed to be wiring this into the idle wire from the expansion card now instead of the PWM wire from the main harness? Thanks in advance

Yeah I switched the wire from working off the PWM idle wire of the main card to the IDLE wire of the MSX card. nothing big really.

Just a config change and move the wire? I'm about to move from MS2 to MS3 myself. I had heard about the PWM ground relocation mod but hadn't done it... If I understand you right it's not necessary with MS3, just move the wire to the MS3 card (Did you put it directly to the expansion pin or do you have the MS3X card?) and change the configuration to use the new pin?

The MSX card has an output that can run a PWM Idle valve. I didn't change anything but the wire coming out of the MS3.

You physically moved the wire but didn't make any change to the "output port" in idle settings in tunerstudio?

Obviously I'm new to MS3 but that must mean the same output port config is electrically connected to a pin in both the main board db37 and the ms3x board db37? That's surprising...
