Tuner Studio datalogs incorrect values

Post by belalegosi »

Hello All,
I'm assisting a friend with an odd issue he is having with MS2 extra.
His Tuner Studio gauges (RPM and Boost) match his instrument cluster RPM and mechanical boost gauge. However the recorded logs from Tuner Studio are showing just about 1/2 the actual RPM (7k --> 4k) and Boost pressure (~20psi --> 7.4psi).

Attached is a snippet of the log at a known problem location and the current tune he is using.
Note during after 120kPA his AFRs go dangerously lean.
incorrect logs.msq
incorrect log.msl

Thanks!

If you are using the standard gauges for Engine Speed and MAP, it is not possible for the log to not match the gauge. The same value that is sent to the gauge is sent to the logger.

Perhaps there was some corrective action done to the gauge?

Can you send/post a project backup so I can see your full project?

Thanks for your suggestion Phil.
You were right, he was using a custom dashboard.
Reverted to the original dashboard and all seems fine. :D
