INI not found

Post by billr »

When opening an MSQ posted in these forums there is usually no problem. However, sometimes I get a prompt to let the EFI Analytics server provide the needed INI; works fine and still no problem. However, occasionally I get an error message that directs me to look for the INI on my computer, where it wasn't found in the first place. If you need a screen-shot of the error message please advise me as to how to get a screen-shot (Win8 using Firefox), or look at this thread:

PS: This used to happen much more frequently, seems much reduced in recent years.

On your local computer TS only looks in 2 places for ini files:
1) [TunerStudioInstallFolder]/config/ecuDef/
- This is where the ini files that were bundled with the TunerStudio Installer will be.
2) ~/.efianalytics/TunerStudio/config/ecuDef/
- This is where TS stores any ini files it hos downloaded in the past.
When you open a downloaded msq to be opened in a Temp project, TS will check for the appropriate ini in #1 & #2

If is isn't found there; before TS prompts you that the ini is on the EFI Analytic Servers, it checks to see if it is indeed there.
If it isn't on the server, then you just get the prompt to browse for it on your computer so you can get it there as we don't have anything for you...

In the thread you referenced, that is the case... The msq posted there is using MS3 1.5.1 pre Beta 2, the ini files for this were not on the EFI Analytics servers.

I have put them up there now.

OK, thanks. I may not be able to help that OP, but at least now I will be able to open the MSQ and have a chance.

Well, I just tried opening that MSQ, still no joy. I get the same error message as before. I'm using TS V3.0.22 (registered).

I put up the ini for the Pro, Ultimate and Evo, but missed the ini for the base ms3.
