Overboost Protection Table

Post by Herbst »

I was doing some thinking the other day and wondered if there would ever be the possibility of an overboost protection table. This would be especially applicable in high boost applications that use a boost taper. If something goes wrong, say the boost line to the wastegate actuator fell off or melted. Then the overboost protection would more than likely kick in when its too late. So for instance I could set the spark cut at 4000rpm to 14psi, then at 5000 to 17 psi, and at 7000 at 20psi. That way I wouldn't accidentally hit 20psi at 5000rpm if something were to fail. Or am I the only one who would want something like this?

How about the "boost tolerance" setting? That should do what you want already.

I completely forgot about that setting. Yeah that's exactly what I need. Thanks
