TS Ultra v3.0.28 - Possible bug on saving

Post by suberimakuri »

Not connected to ecu.
MS3 v1.4.1 and 1.5.1 firmwares.
Debian linux unstable.

Steps to reproduce:
Viewing Dashboard.
Ctrl+S to save tune to CurrentTune.msq.
Generates constant comm error (actually this happens a lot), then java error. See attached output.
Can't click on any menus or make any selections in app.
Window is responsive in linux to minimize, maximize etc.

I realised I wasn't using my Ultra registration so I changed last week to Ultra.
It's only been happening since. Before that was on the next level down registration, I forget what it's called. MS?
Hasn't been a TS update in the past week I think.

Please let me know if anything else I can do to help diagnose.

Okay it's not registration related, downgraded back to MS.
I also had added my user to dialout group for ttyUSB# support. Removed user from group but still crashes.
Maybe it's an error in ms3extra 1.5.1 ini file, as 1.4.1 is not crashing on save.

This is an odd one..
The thread appears to be hanging on file operations, not on application operations.

Does the TS have write permissions to the folders:
[YourProjectFolder]/*
~.efiaAnalytics/*

However, if it was just permissions, I would expect exceptions to be thrown, not lock up the thread.

Also i can't see why 1.4 vs 1.5 firmware would matter.

Is the disk full by chance?

Hmm, I have used another Linux user at one point when starting the 1.5.1 first run.
It's possible that I've ended up creating some files with that user and my usual Linux user can't overwrite or similar.
I'll test this out this evening (~12 hours from now) and report back.
Doubt the disk is full but stranger things have happened.

Thanks!

Permissions issue.
Didn't narrow it down completely, was in subdirectory of <Project Name> though...

Maybe projectCfg/maincontroller.ini?

Thanks for the ideas. All sorted.
