Hello,
Is there a possibility to use a Bluetooth adapter on microsquirt?
Maybe a version with 5v, in order to be able to use the Vref to power supply it.
Has someone already done that?
Msdroid is currently working with USB otg, but as soon as the engine starts it gets disconnecred, maybe due to interference...
Thanks
Guillaume

Vref from the Microsquirt cannot supply enough current for a Bluetooth adapter. You need one that connects to the car 12V.

Re: Bluetooth adapter for microsquirt and msdroid
Thanks Jean,
Are there some reliable boards for 12V-->5V power supply?
How powerfull is the microsquirt power supply, compared to the other Megasquirt? MS3 on V3.57 and MS3pro?
I was using a Nextion HMI powered by the µsquirt Vref on a friends car, maybe it is not so good an dI should build a separate power supply too. this models takes up to 85mA
The 7" I am buiding for a MS3pro takes 510mA... I will certainly need an other power supply too.
For the bluetooth adapter, if I understood correctly:
this model:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1pcs-HC-05-Wir ... SwrklVDCUp
for inside casing, connected to the CPU pins, directly in TTL, power supply 5V: internnaly for Megasquirt or external for Microsquirt.
This model:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/DB9-RS232-RF-W ... xy3yNTfvzj
or https://www.ebay.com/itm/RS232-Bluetoot ... Sw3gJZEMzn
for outside DB9, integrate the MAX 232 to switch again the signal in TTL. also requires 5V external power supply for the microsquirt.
Am I correct?

Hi,
My bluetooth adapters work well on the microsquirt.
But I also made recently a plug and play version with the 2.5mm stereo plug and 12v supply.
If you're interested, just let me now!

Re: Bluetooth adapter for microsquirt and msdroid
Thanks Sam,
What is the cost of the 12V version?
I also have found a module with a 12V input:
https://m.ebay.com/itm/Bluetooth-Module ... mwBanner=1
Would this one work with Ms and microsquirt?
Other question, what could I use as 5V powersupply for a Nextion screen in order not to overload the MS Vref?

Is this component OK for powering a HC05 and Nextion screen from the 12V?
