4r70w out of 2005 vic

Post by 62f100 »

Wondering if I can use my selector or not?? Seems to be the opposite of chart in microsqirt trans manual. Im using Ashford's msq, just changed to microsquirt for microsquirt module I'm using. The trans came from 2005 vic.

Is there a way to change the switch table to match my switches?

Checked the selector inputs & they match the e40d selector in the trans control manual. So I changed the setting to e40d & selector gauge in TS went from 4 to 3 &back to 4 when shifting through the gears, also sol5 lit up &went. Any ideas?

in the pic you posted tr4 is on the left to tr1 on the right.
tr1 selA
tr2- selB
tr4- selC
beta 2 or 3 this should work, before beta2 the logic was wrong and so was the manual.

what hardware are you using? there are input differences and needs to be selected correctly in software

I've got a micro squirt module and running the 2005 crown Vic trans selector. I have the 4r70w switch selected. I have the selector A - ign1, selector B -ign2 , selector C-spareadc1 , common ground -sensor ground. Correct??
Where does the trans temp output hook to?

1I think I figured it out, matt Cramer had said to wire to v3 diagram & I did , but i picked v2 for software. I rewired to v2 & selector gauge is changing now, but R,2... boxes aren't changing. Can someone look at my msq ? Should/can I use v3 wiring / software?

as best i can tell the micromodule and microv3 are identical schematic wise with the following exceptions- different vr conditioners and module has 2 freed up processor pins. i see no reason to not wire it to v3 specs and v3 software settings.

the best way for troubleshooting this would be to have the 3 inputs on gauges. use ad6 gauge, then make indicators for pt4 and pt5. i would try grounding these inputs directly to see if they work. you just might need small pullup resistors on them.

I got the wiring/software changed to v3, still try figure out TS gauge. On TS the selector gauge moves to the correct gears, but the boxes for R,2 & corresponding solenoids don't come on. I don't have brake or OD inputs hooked up & testing with engine not running. In test mode boxes change color & I can hear solenoids clicking on. if pullup is needed,im assuming it will come from 5vref ? What value resistor would you suggest? Thanks for all your help.

It won't try to select gears without the engine running.
