D14-D16 wiring.

Post by 107merc »

V3.57 added pinouts for the 3 LED's, PAD's 1-3, which is great, no more jumpers to the LED, but also added a second Vcc source to those PADS.
V3.0 doesn't have that second source and I'm not sure I understand it's purpose. Any info appreciated.

I'm not sure I understand your question. What exactly are you trying to learn?

Thanks for responding, should have included the diagram earlier. Want to re-purpose D14 to turn on a relay controlling an electric fan.
V3.0 of the MS is pretty straight forward. V3.57 added the pinout, PAD 1, so a jumper soldered to the LED was no longer necessary
you can use PAD 1. What I don't understand is the function of the second Vcc source, (circled). Thanks.

It powers the pullup resistor so the PAD1,2,3 are 0-5V signals.

0 or 5v is what I'm seeing on PAD 1. Could I remove R58 and just use that circuit as an on/off connecting
PAD 1 to SPR3 to turn my fan relay on or off depending on what parameters I set in Tuner Studio or
would that not work?? I have V3.57 so no proto board and would like to use what exists.
Again many thanks.

The diodes are available as programmable on/off outputs, so yes they could be used for switching a relay as long as the relevant transistor is up to it and they aren't being used for anything else.
Do not load someone elses tune and expect it to work for you!
