Renault wheel issue with recent 3.0.3 codes

Post by ruzki »

Hi everybody,

hopefully ist not to late to post this.
My Car isr running with the MS extra Code 3.0.3d but with the new versions of the Code not !?!

The Problem is that i got no sync "Lost sync Reason 5" with the new Code´s.

The Trigger wheel is a 60-2 buuut the 58th Teeth is a bit longer ... here is a drawing

MOD EDIT: Had to delete those images because the hosting site took me to a "live cam" site.

Its a Renault with a 2.0 16v Engine. The original Ecu is a Siemens Fenix 5 with 1Hall Sensor on the Cam and 1 VR sensor on the Crank --> Seq Injection and Wasted Spark.

What particular "recent codes". There have not been many wheel decoder changes in a while, but I need to know the exact revisions.
It would also help significantly if you could narrow things down to a few releases.

He fixed that with just making it to a real 60-2 using a dremel and some time. So he never had to care anymore about this.

After making it to a real 60-2 everything is ok. We met last week and I have set it up for him and now the engine runs without a sync loss. He's mapping the engine at the moment and made good success.

Hey Ruzki, I'm about to get into what I beleive to be the same scenario as you. My car has the Renault F4R 2.0 liter engine with the 60-2 crank wheel with the longer 58th tooth as well and 4 tooth at the cam wheel itself.

Were you ever able to solve this no-sync issue without modifying the crank wheel itself? Thanks

The Rennix decoder was changed a lot since this thread. Can you start a new thread with your MSQ and a tooth log?

Hello,

Yes, the 60-2 renault trigger wheel operate well with ms2/ms3/microsquirt code and hardware. The long teeth is no longer a problem since years.

@Matt => one don't use the Renix wheel decoder for this setup but the standard trigger wheel, like 36-1.

Best regards,
Manu
