TinyIOx alternate ground location

Post by DHH »

For some reason, I can't post on Jean's site, so I'm posting here hoping Jean will see it.
I had to unsolder some wire on my TinyIOx and I was overly aggressive on pulling out the ground wire and I tore the solder rings off the board.

As near as I can tell, it doesn't look as if it matters on the front of the board (although I would like confirmation). It looks as if grounding takes place on the back of the board.
Can I scape the area clean (that I have identified in my pic) that is next to the ground hole and solder there?

Don't scrape the solder mask. The solder pad just besides the missing one is also a ground (part of the BDM 6-pin header). Other easily accessible ground locations are the 2.5mm jack pad closest to the board edge, the 'BOOT' header pad closest to the board edge and the 3-pin header pad furthest from the board edge (only visible on the bottom of the board; the RS232 chip covers the top).

Let me know if that's not clear.
