Hi,
I just was gifted a MS1 2.2 unit that on the jimstim works fine. I went to update the firmware using Tunerstudio and got this:
Unidentified hardware
B and G MS1 Base Code [B@fA33ee and hardware seen as "20"
Anyone know what this is? should I go ahead and manually update the firmware?
Thanks
Megaquirt 1 CPU

Re: Megaquirt 1 CPU
Boot jumper and use the file included with the firmware.
Re: Megaquirt 1 CPU
Thanks Paul
Re: Megaquirt 1 CPU
well, just my luck. I installed the firmware and tunerstudio says the unit is "offline". But it does see it to do a firmware update. Now it recognizes it as MS1 rather than "20" but said it can't update. I have reloaded the update several times and it doesn't make a difference. Here is the 029y4a DOS read out:
1. Turn off Megasquirt
.
.
Press any key to continue . . .
2. Install Boot jumper (or short out boot resistor)
.
.
Press any key to continue . . .
3. Turn on Megasquirt
.
.
Press any key to continue . . .
.
This should count up to 1700+ lines
.

MS Download 1.10

It appears that you still have the bootload jumper installed.
If this is not the case, and you have removed the jumper, then
something is wrong and your download probably failed.
If MS doesn't reboot, type "download -help" and check out the -v switch.
Press any key to continue . . .
Is there something I am missing? thanks

Re: Megaquirt 1 CPU
Did you remove the boot jumper before trying to connect to TS?
Re: Megaquirt 1 CPU
Yes, I did remove the jumper. I just had tunerstudio do a communication check, it found the 029y4a firmware ms1 on com port 1 at 9600 baud. But it says "offline". I can see the LED lights flicker in front when I move the rpm dial.. it seems to be working I think but not communicating with tunerstudio. No problems with tunerstudio before the update.
Re: Megaquirt 1 CPU
sorry for the confusion.. I deleted the old tunerstudio project and created a new one with the new firmware, works perfect!! thanks
