The stock ECU is still controlling the alternator. Im using a microsquirt V 2.2 module piggybacked onto the stock oem ecu. The cam and crank sensor signals go straight to the MS ecu with the required 5v pullup on cam sensor via a 470r resistor to the 5v ref out from the MS board.
The crank sensor gets a 12v pull up.

Thats how i was told to do it from the NZ company i bought it from.

When you say, "Straight to the ECU," you mean to the VR & VR2 pins, right?

The Company is Megasquirt NZ Ltd.

As i was instructed:

The cam sensor signal wire was connected to Pin 14 (VR In2+) with a 5v pullup via a 470 resistor from pin 15 which is the 5v vref out.

The crank signal wire was connected to pin 19 (Opto In-) with a 12v pullup cia a 470r resistor connected to PIn 2 (12v).

I did the pull ups using the legs either side od the resistor to bridge the required pins such as from VR In2+ to 5v Vref-out.

Have i done wrong, how should it be done for a hall effect sensor?
