Finally microsquirting my wbx, advice?

Post by LickyLickerson »

Hi all, ordered a bunch of stuff to microsquirt my vanagon. Any tips for my setup? Or wiring? Thanks

So far i have acquired the following;

Microsquirt with 8' leads
36-1 toothed trigger wheel from Thedubshop already mounted to a 3 ring crank pully
Marco Mansi injectors
Marco Mansi ratio rockers
Map sensor and connector
Intake air temp sensor
Fuel injector connectors
Relay and fuse box
Throttle position sensor
New Throttle body

Go Westy Fuel rail
Universal dash gauge with CAN BUS
Wideband O2 with controller
150 PSI Fuel and Oil pressure sensors
Oil temp sensor
Coil pack
What do people usually use as a jacket on the loose wires? Braided nylon or is there something better?

Read the DO's and Don'ts post at the top of this section.

Use only the Extra manuals found in the header above.

Choosing the 36-1 kit is a good start, one of the most difficult and most important sensors in the MS system.
This will give you a leg up.

The wide band will allow you to tune the MS yourself and monitor it as there is no check engine light.

I like those coils, just dont get a cheap chinese knock off.

Just tape up the wires loosely until you get it all going good.
If you wrap it all up nice you will surely have to take it apart to make changes or sort out issues.

Follow the recommended wiring as closely as possible and mount the MS in the rear.
Somewhere protected from direct heat and the elements and keep wire length to a minimum.
Pay close attention to grounding and power sources, covered in the do's and donts.

It's best to use high impedance injectors, I question the injector choice because no specs are given.
Injectors have a really long lifespan.
Also using a injector like that limits your choices of injector, a more conventional injector and fuel rail would be a better choice if they can be implemented reasonably.

It seems you are replacing a lot of parts that should be on your motor already?
250 for a throttle body that has no TPS????
I'd pick something that has a TPS mounted and provides for Idle speed control (that is compatible with a microS)(2 wire not 4 wire)
Correctly identify your MS ecu here
Read the Do's and Don'ts to avoid the common pitfalls before starting your install or asking for help
Use only these manuals other manuals may cause brain damage or worse.
