Ville Vartiovaara's ion sensing circuit

Post by karlo »

Has anyone attempted to make the DIY ion sensing circuit that Ville documents in his paper? It seems pretty simple and I'd like to give it a go, but figured I'd ask before starting.

Current implementations of MS doesn't have enough computing power to do anything with the ion current signal, but a laptop does and might be able to provide feedback to MegaTune so as to make an autotune for ignition as well.

Anyways, just seeing the signal would be useful at the moment.

I assume you had to modify the current mirror circuit? It looks like parts of it is turned upside down.

Ended up without the current mirror because coil polarity was inverse of that in the docs and we destroyed the circuit with the first spark.
