I need help with tach output circuit. I cannot get it to work. I used js4 as the output, and built the output circuit below.
My car is a 1990 1.6 Miata. I have Toyota COP, I've tried every possible thing that I found online and I could think of to get it to move.
I have been able to make the needle move by touching the 12V+ with the tach wire fast enough. Everywhere I searched people say the tachometer signal needs pullup indicating that it gets grounded, or ground switched. But in reality it seems like it's the exact opposite.
After building the standard Megasuqirt output circuit nothing happened. The needle didn't even flinch. I than decided to build another circuit to invert the output.
Now with the inverted tach ouput circuit I got the rpm needle to move but it's very rough and shows roughly half or even less RPM than real.
Guys I have exhaused my ideas, please someone help me out.

Re: MS2V3 Miata Tach output
Some tach's need the flyback spike to trigger them.
