MLV settigs have reset to default again
Hi,
Every now and again my MLV settings reset to defaults. All the data fields I selected are gone, and the screen colours I selected are all changed. Anybody know why this might be happening?
I am sure that this happened exactly a month ago and I thought it might have correlated to a java update but the last java update seems to have been on the 17th August.
On the 17th September, according to the file date, I exported the settings of MLV so it is additionally irritating is that it does not replace the settings when I import the file.
It is straight forward selecting the data fields again (like rpm, tps, map, afr etc), and resetting all the colours (I prefer to have a white screen), but it is time I'd rather be spending doing something else !

Re: MLV settigs have reset to default again
In your home dir there is a file called mlvUser.properties
If something deletes that, that is what will cause MLV to loose it's memory.
In some cases this file is at:
[UserHome]/.efiAnalytics/

Re: MLV settigs have reset to default again
Thanks!
Backed it up. Should the export/import be working? The .SETTINGS file always seems to be 110 bytes.
Also when the .SETTINGS is imported MLV advises I need to restart, restarting the app didn't apply settings, so I rebooted the machine. THEN I was hit with a Java update so there is still a possibility that it is doing this.

Settings in MLV reset to default again. Will try restoring the mlvUser.properties that I backed per advice here last time this happened

Re: MLV settigs have reset to default again
That is interesting, I wonder what is removing the mlvUser.properties file.
There have been a couple others that seem to have it periodically disappear, but not for most. Is it a clean up software?
I'm going to have MLV save a backup of it and load that if the mlvUser.properties is mepty.

Re: MLV settigs have reset to default again
Thanks, the only unusual thing I did prior to the reset this time was open another users mlv, shown in this post:
http://www.msextra.com/forums/viewtopic ... 31&t=57020
The next time I opened my log it had reset
