configuration error message

configuration error message

Post by fxbdydriver »

Just installed my PNP microsquirt. Trying to create new project, after detecting microsquirt, Tunerstudio does not have configuration to support found firmware:unknown. Required serial signature 89.
Please click the other check box and browse to the ecu definition (ini) provided with your firmware. I am not sure how to fix this. I am new to microsquirt and tunerstudio. Help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Josh

Required serial signature 89.
That sounds like it is finding something else before your PNP. That isn't a proper PNP signature.

Is anything else connected to the PC?
What baud is it detecting it at?

just tried again, baud rate is 115200. Yesterday baud was 9600. Stated this time required serial signature is 95. Nothing connected to laptop.

Detecting 3 is actually fine... It is detecting 3 different drivers to use for connectivity and would use which ever you selected.

If you get nothing with powering off, it would seem as though you are talking to the right port. However, what you are getting back from the controller does not appear to be valid data.

Perhaps the firmware is corrupt?

Is it a PNP or a MicroSquirt?

Did you just purchase it?

I just tried to detect again... one driver...#89 firmware. Turned off, back on and got three, same #89, same port with different labels,RS232 ETC. What is my next step?

A number 89 is meaningless to TS and myself.

Try opening the port in Mini-Term at 115200 baud.

Type an Upper case S and Upper case Q in the top box, see if you get any meaningful response.

If you do not, it would seem there is something defective with the box. I would contact the person you purchased it from.

I typed in a capital S and Q and it just put a capital S and Q in bottom box. What kind of response should I expect?

Thanks

You should get the serial signature of the controller and a string representing the firmware version.

With an MS2/MicroSquirt these would never be a single number, they would be String values.

With a new item, your first place to look for support needs to be the supplier.
