TS is java 8 compatible.

I installed java 8 update 20. Still not available on java.com but it can be found in preview at:

TS at first showed these errors:

If it shows these errors after you install java 8, look that the old java 7 has been completely uninstalled.
Mine wasn't, I had to uninstall it manually from control panel. So I had 2 versions of java running, 7 and 8, installed at the same time.
Uninstall manually the old one and it will work fine.

Also remember that you'll pretty sure need both the x86 and the x64 version.
If your browser is x86 it will want to install only the x86 version.
You have to go here https://www.java.com/it/download/manual.jsp and install both versions.

Interesting, it seems like something went wrong with the Java upgrade. I have been running Java 8 on a couple computers and didn't have this trouble.
