Tunerstudio and Megalogviewer on Fedora 22

Post by lukep6470 »

Hi,

I have been running Tunerstudio successfully on Fedora Core 18 and then upgraded to FC22 and it worked no problem.

I have now done a fresh install of Fedora Core 22 and both Tunerstudio and Megalogviewer won't even start. Strace doesn't tell me anything useful. I have disabled selinux and firewalld but that doesn't help.

There must've been some package on 18 that doesn't come with 22. Any ideas?

if in a terminal you type :
java -version

What do you get?

If you try to start TunerStudio by using this in the terminal from the dir of the jar:

java -jar TunerStudioMS.jar

Any resulting error?

openjdk version "1.8.0_91"
Openjdk Runtime Environment (Build 1.8.0_91-b14)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.91-b14, mixed mode)

Running the jar file directly has the same result, straight back to the prompt.

OK so it appears that FC22 and 23 desktop only have the headless version of openjdk installed by default!! For the love of Pete it's a desktop distro!!!

I installed the correct version and all is good.
