MS3 v1.5 alpha 5 garbled on MS3-Pro
I have been using v1.5 alpha 4 with no problems. I loaded alpha 5 today via the TS (3.0.10) loader and it completed fine. But when I tried to connect to the MS3-Pro it would not connect.
When I use the Detect function in TS I get the following messages. And when I try to select the found controller I get. I then tried to load the alpha 4 firmware back via TS and the command line loader, no luck. I get this error. It seems the firmware is not communicating correctly. How can I get a different firmware loaded?

Hello,
i had the same but with an MS3.
After the firmware download with TS 3.0.12 the ms3 didn't answear anymore.
The only way to flash again was with the boadloader jumper placed in.
But the i uploaded the firmware with the loader provided in the firmware zip.
Best regards

I just tested loading this firmware to an MS3 and all seemed to go smoothly.
I see you are on Linux, I will go try loading to the MS3-Pro with linux.
Were there any interruptions or errors during the load?
Alfagta, what OS are you on?

No interruptions during the load. I did try reloading from both Windows and Linux with no luck.

How do you get on with the old non-integrated firmware loader?

Did not work. See the third screen shot in my original post. You can see the error message about mid screen.

Hy, i am on Win7 pro 64 Bit. No errors or communication problems during download.LT401Vette wrote: Alfagta, what OS are you on?

Downloaded without any error. Only thing was that i had no project open.
I started TS and started the fw update from the start page.
Maybe that was the fault?
I can try later again when i'm at home.
With the old uploader i was only possible to load the fw after the bld jumper installation.

Yes, but that was after the ECU was 'scrambled'.jsiedlicki wrote:Did not work. See the third screen shot in my original post. You can see the error message about mid screen.
You will likely need to use the boot jumper to restore operation currently.

I thought that would be needed, but on an MS3-Pro unit is there a boot loader jumper? I have not opened it up to see and there is no mention of it in the manual.

Try opening up the case and putting a paper clip in the two holes marked BOOT. See if that lets you load firmware OK.

That seems to have worked. I was able to load the latest stable release 1.4.1. I have not yet tried to load the 1.5 alpha 5 release yet.Matt Cramer wrote:Try opening up the case and putting a paper clip in the two holes marked BOOT. See if that lets you load firmware OK.

Re: MS3 v1.5 alpha 5 garbled on MS3-Pro
I believe I have found a problem with TS's Firmware loader.
I believe the issue is with the erase1K commands.
So it effects 1.5+ firmware when there is a 2011+ monitor.
The fix is in the works.

Re: MS3 v1.5 alpha 5 garbled on MS3-Pro
I flashed mine with the v1.5a5 yesterday using the command line util in the zip (as per normal).
It did a lot of odd retrying, complete erase, etc things that ive never seen before.
The flash still did work though as far as i can tell.

pre-1.5 uses more flash than earlier versions and this requires a slightly different method for those extra flash pages.MWPau wrote:I flashed mine with the v1.5a5 yesterday using the command line util in the zip (as per normal).
