I'm looking to try and get Microsquirt to work with a Chrysler 41TE transmission. I'm trying to do it as cheaply as possible in case it doesn't work. I have a version 1 or 2 Microsquirt that I'm borrowing from a friend who had it working as an engine controller on some type of off road ATV (Rhino ?) vehicle. I'm looking for the firmware for it but can only find firmware for version 3 (http://www.msextra.com/downloads/). I don't know if v3 firmware will work on a v1 or 2. If I have to buy a Mircosquirt 3 so be it but I'd like to work with what I already have. Thanks in advance for any help
A little more info on what I'm working with. I have a 1988 Dodge Caravan with an '03 SRT4 engine being run by a Megasquirt 3 v3.57 w/MS3X. Megasquirt has been working very well for me on this vehicle (12.6 second 1/4 mile @ 111 mph) and also a reliable daily driver. I'm trying to stick with one platform because I want to take advantage of the MS CAN network. I'm currently using Chrysler's 31TH transmission. I heard the 41TE is stronger/better (I'm looking forward to overdrive for better MPG) but it has a complex shifting strategy hence why I want to do this as cheaply as possible. If it doesn't work I can always fall back on my 31TH transmission. I've only seen one person make this work (Unaclocker) but all his work has been removed from the internet so I have to start from scratch. He was using the GPIO board but information for that sometimes come up as "404 not found." The Microsquirt information seems more complete and intact.

It's the same firmware.
However... 41TE support is highly experimental... or to put it another way, it doesn't really work.

Thanks for the info.jsmcortina wrote:It's the same firmware.

I know it's highly experimental. I got the transmission on a trade and I'm borrowing Microsquirt so if it doesn't work then I'm only out time. I think it's worth a try. Until somebody takes a stab at it there will be no advancements. There are a lot of people interested in this working. I lay my van up for the summer for big mods (last year was Megasquirt and a larger radiator/condenser combo) because it's too hot to race or go to car shows (I'm in the Phoenix metro area) so I have a couple of months to play with it.
