Megatune configurator can't open

Hi, since about a week, I can't open the Megatune Configurator to change the megasquirt-II.ini file like I did before. Here's what I'm doing :

1- I open Megatune
2- I click File/Configurator

Then, Windows Vista is saying : "mtcfg MFC application stopped working, Windows will close this program and will try to find a solution to the problem."

I tried to uninstall everything and download and reinstall Megatune but it does the same thing.

Am I the only who have that problem?

I'm not sure what is actually going wrong there - possibly some other system library that the configurator needs?

What you could do though, is try TunerStudio as it eliminates the configurator and brings those settings into "Project Properties" within the main application.

Yes it's what I did, I switched to Tunerstudio. In my last post, I would simply like to know if I was the only one in this situation. I'm pretty sure it's the d*** Windows Vista in french language that make this thing happen. Anyway, I tried Tunerstudio and everything is fine except one thing : Tunerstudio don't remember where the last project opened is and it do not remember my "preferences" that I've set. Is there a file where I can tell Tunerstudio to open X files at Y location and to set the preferences that I want by default so it always uses my preference at startup?

Write up exactly what you are doing and what TS is not doing and post in the TunerStudio section. Possibly there is a multi-lingual problem because it seems to work ok for me in UK Windows XP and Linux.

All that should be remembered on it's own... My first guess is the vista issue is getting you..

Try running TunerStudio as an administrator.

To do so:
Go to the TunerStudio.exe by default in
c:\Program Files\EFIAnalytics\TunerStudioMS\

With French language it will likely be different.
- Right Click on TunerStudio.exe
- Select Properties
- Click on Advanced or Compatability
- Check the box "Run As Administrator"

Now it will give you the UAC prompt, but should be able to save you preferences.

I am shooting to have the vista issues out by the release after next.

I check the "Run as administrator" box like you said and now it remembers the Preferences and it opens the last opened project. Thanks a lot!

Now, can I remove this UAC prompt?

You can disable UAC
I will see if I can fix this for the next release. Then the one other vista problem is with auto update. I want to make it only prompt you when it is doing an update, right now if you are not running as an administrator the update doesn't take

Configurator freezing happens when i drop a version 3 ini file in Mtcfg folder. If i remove it, it starts ok.
