HTC Hero (CDMA/Sprint version) is a Oct 2009 vintage phone with pretty low specs by todays standards.
Single core 528MHz ARM11, Adreno 130 GPU, 288M RAM, 320 x 480 pixels, 3.2 inches (~180 ppi pixel density)
Takes up to a 32G class 10 microSD.
It was a "hot" phone when new. common as salt.
It shipped with Eclair, but is well supported by Cyanogen and other modders and is running Cyanogenmod 7.1//Android 2.37
I'm using a <$50 US converters BT-232 (class1) with internal antenna, i get ~11-12 hz with my 5+ year old laptop on MS2-3.20 Alpha.
Dongle is on the end of a 6' serial cable.
Range is well over 100 feet with the class1 dongle in my laptop, only tested it that far.
It's ~50 feet with the phone, but that's fine.
It makes for an excellent datalogger.
The Hero can also be had for $50-80 in working shape, but the USB ports are a lame design.
I would only cry for the microSD if I lost it/dropped it etc.
Always doing things the hard way, MS2 sequential w/ v1.01 mainboard, LS2 coils. 80 mile/day commuter status.
