Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
It is currently going through an upgrade, the screens are being programmed and I'm testing the 3 SBC that run various systems to ensure their battery management software works correctly. The 4D Systems screens are digital touch with CAN boards so I'll eventually get them plumbed into the MS3Pro Ultimate to make it do 'things.' They have pretty good software and many options to add on features.

Is it very difficult to integrate the turn signal and high beam indicator to tunerstudio? I see a lot of you folks have done it successfully, but I am lost as to where or how to do it.

With TS Dash you can use the Pi pins

Phil got it, you just use the Raspberry pi (or any other SBC that will run Wiring Pi) and use it as an input for TS Dash. It would make a great tutorial topic if someone hasn't written it up yet @LT401Vette

OEM dash is still in place and provides the primary tach, speedo, voltage gauge, fuel level, signal indicators and bulb monitoring. The supplemental display is mounted right next to the OEM gauge pod.\
On all three of the dashboard views, if there is a problem then the entire screen's background turns red and large white text pops up in an open space with what the problem is (e.g. oil pressure, IAT, etc). Makes it easy to know there is something wrong when focused on driving. Large area of your peripheral vision turns red, a quick glance tells you the problem.
The main "driving" dashboard (blue triangles on outer rim of AFR gauge indicate target, verse actual indicated by red needles):
The "extra" dashboard when more information is needed:
The "CEL" dashboard for CEL conditions, as well as alternate ignition trims for low octane fuel, manual activation of the radiator fans, and manually dimming/brightening the display (which is normally done automatically in sync with the car's lights), and a button that gracefully closes and restarts TunerStudio:

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
Hi everyone,
Here's my first go at making a dashboard that replicates the original Lancia Montecarlo dashboard.
My plan is to be able to select this dashboard on a digital dashboard that replaces the original gauges. I can look at building other dashboards for tuning and for something different!
Comments welcome - good and constructive critism, or pointers on how I can improve.
If anyone can let me know how I can post a vid of the gauge demo, I can post that too!
Cheers! Darren

love it. So you are using a photo as background with needles on top?

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
Yes, absolutely right! I used my iPhone camera at 3x zoom and then deleted the needles using GIMP, importing it as a background. I then lit the indicator lights and too photos of them and used them as the ‘on’ image. I left the off image as a transparent.
I’m still learning the photo software so it takes time and I need to get the hang of cropping the images in the right shape and resizing them so they’re the same size as the off symbols.
Looking forward to being able to adjust the width of the needle gauge pointers and that will be more or less it I think for this. I may well revisit it once I get more experience with GIMP.
Got to give some thought now to some new dashboards and a decent splash screen.
Cheers,
Darren
